Phase 1 of the Apex Solar Project has been completed, adding a 3.2MW nameplate capacity to Apex’s solar system. It is expected to further reduce over 2,300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. From September 2024, the total nameplate capacity of Apex’s solar system will reach 8.3MW, estimated to result in an annual reduction of approximately 6,000 tons of carbon emissions and a RE ratio of 4%.

With the development of Thailand's green energy industry, Apex will not be limited to self-built solar power systems in the future. We will also adopt Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to purchase local green electricity. Starting in 2025, over 13.9 MW of solar power will be provided to Apex, and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by more than 10,200 tons annually. Take 2022 as the baseline year, this is equivalent to a reduction of nearly 7% in greenhouse gas emissions and is expected to achieve our first goal of increasing our renewable energy replacement ratio to 5%.

In addition to the installation of the Apex Solar Project, we also completed the renovation of the roof of Apex 2. The renovation not only expanded the area available for solar panel installation but also improved the factory’s working environment by addressing dust and high-temperature issues on the rooftop and enhancing the overall safety of the facility. By involving employees in renewable energy construction and renovation projects, Apex strengthened team cohesion. The engineering team said, “Although this project was challenging, we are used to problem-solving and enjoy overcoming difficulties. This success has been a great experience for the team.”

At this critical moment of energy transition, Apex adheres to the principle of pursuing sustainable business practices by actively integrating group resources. In addition to the renewable energy development plans, Apex signed the SBTi commitment in August 2024. With Thailand’s advantage of nearly 200 sunny days per year, Apex will continue to increase the usage of solar power to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, integrating the concept of sustainability with our operations to create an environmentally sustainable future.

【About Apex Solar Project】
In response to global climate change and international trends, Apex launched the "Apex GREEN Project," focusing on establishing sustainability guidelines, installing solar power systems, promoting energy-saving initiatives, advancing sustainability education, and fulfilling corporate social responsibility to enhance the sustainability of the factory infrastructure. Through the "Apex Solar Project," Apex aims to increase the Renewable Energy replacement ratio and provide factory electricity demand in the future. This project, which started in December 2021, is expected to achieve a solar power supply exceeding 13.9 MW by 2025, with an estimated renewable energy substitution rate of 5% to 10%, and is expected to reduce more than 10,200 tons of annual carbon emissions.
