Apex (4927) released the 2022 ESG Report today. Aiming to enhance information transparency, Apex has voluntarily prepared and released annual ESG Reports in both Chinese and English since 2016. The previous reports are also disclosed in the ESG section of Apex's official website, making it easy for domestic and international stakeholders to refer to them.

The 2022 ESG Report is prepared following the latest Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also references the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and the reporting principles outlined by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). The report is also assured by Crowe (TW) CPAs.

  • In terms of environmental issues, Apex has achieved preliminary greenhouse gas reduction goals with an approximately 5% decrease in carbon intensity compared to 2019. Last year, Apex launched the GREEN Project, in which the phase 1 of the Solar Project already in operation with an estimated carbon reduction of over 2,000 tons in the coming years. Besides, the Lean Project and the FA Goal are progressing as planned, which will result in a 10% reduction in the energy consumption of Apex’s factory equipment and a daily energy usage decrease of approximately 9,000 kWh.

  • In terms of social engagement, Apex has invested nearly NTD 1.87 million in social prosperity projects, ranging from education-related scholarship programs to community-focused initiatives such as installing solar panels in rural areas of Northern Thailand, organizing blood donations, and conducting tree planting projects. In terms of corporate governance, Apex established the Sustainable Development Committee to strengthen the direction and layout of our sustainable operations. Additionally, in the sixth Board of Directors, we have added a female director and expanded an independent director position, enhancing the independence of the Board and achieving our goal of Board gender diversity.

  • Furthermore, in the corporate governance assessment released in April, Apex ranked in 6% to 20% for eight consecutive years among listed companies. Besides, in the electronics category with a market capitalization of over NTD 10 billion, Apex has moved up to the 11% to 20% range for the first time, which means our continuous efforts to improve our corporate governance mechanisms have yielded some results. In the future, we will continue to implement corporate sustainability and steadfastly advance on the path of ESG with unwavering determination.
