Today (27th) Apex has been invited to participate in the "E.Sun ESG Sustainability Initiative" hosted by E.Sun FHC for the third time. Apex is one of the 13 overseas companies that E.Sun FHC has expanded its invitation to this year. Apex Chief Strategy Officer is representing the company, joining with President Tsai Ing-wen and more than 150 domestic companies in responding to the sustainability initiative. The initiative focuses on controlling greenhouse gas emissions, implementing various ESG practices to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to unite the entire supply chain to work together towards ESG.
As a sustainability partner of E.Sun Bank, Apex is committed to taking concrete actions to address climate change with E.Sun Bank. In addition to the greenhouse gas inventories, Apex is actively integrating carbon reduction tools and technological resources from the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan and Thailand. Apex has planned to obtain ISO 14064 greenhouse gas emission certification by June 2024 to enhance our greenhouse gas management. In the meantime, through a series of energy-saving initiatives, we are promoting carbon reduction principles within our daily operations, leading employees to practice energy management in their daily work to achieve our energy-saving and carbon reduction goals.
In addition, Apex initiated the "Apex Solar Project" from year 2021, and we anticipate that in 2025, the total installed capacity of the first phase will reach 12.2MW. Taking advantage of Thailand's natural condition of nearly 200 days of average annual sunlight, we expect to achieve a renewable energy substitution rate of approximately 5%, with the annual carbon reduction of over 8,800 tons. If we take the year 2022 as the benchmark for carbon emissions, this reduction is equivalent to a nearly 5% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions.
Apex looks forward to collaborating with the supply chain to jointly create sustainable value for stakeholders by implementing specific energy-saving and carbon reduction initiatives to control greenhouse gas emissions. As we progress towards our goal of sustainable corporate operations, we are not only focused on our core business but also actively fulfilling our corporate social responsibility. Through the concrete actions, we respond to the SDGs and are committed to mitigating the environmental impact of our business, working towards a sustainable future.
