Yesterday (June 28), Apex (4927) released the 2023 ESG Report. Aiming to enhance information transparency, Apex has voluntarily prepared and released annual ESG Reports in both Chinese and English since 2016. These reports are available in the ESG section of our official website for stakeholders worldwide to access at any time.
The 2023 Sustainability Report was prepared in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and it also references the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards. The report has also obtained an assurance statement from Afnor Asia Ltd. based on the AA1000 assurance standard.
Sustainable Environment
In 2023, the use of renewable energy of Apex has already exceeded 2%. To achieve our corporate sustainability goals, we launched the Apex GREEN Project at the end of 2021, aiming to increase the proportion of renewable energy and enhance water resource management to meet water and electricity needs in the future. As of 2023, the installed capacity of our self-built solar power systems has reached 5.1MWp, reducing carbon emissions by over 3,700 tons annually. Additionally, the Lean Project and the internal energy-saving targets of FA Goal have proceeded smoothly as planned. Energy consumption for the relevant equipment operations in 2023 has decreased by 11%, saving approximately 14,904 MWh of electricity annually.
Social Prosperity
Apex invested about THB 990,000 in the Social Prosperity Project, including scholarship programs to encourage education, tree planting projects to support environmental sustainability, and inviting employees to participate in blood donation. In the 2024 Apex Songkran celebrations, we held a gender-inclusive beauty pageant, showcasing our diverse and inclusive corporate culture. Through various activities, we not only strengthen teamwork, but also strengthen our relationships with society and build up a deep and win-win relationship with society.
Corporate Governance
In 2023, we obtained ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System certification from BSI and conducted ISO 14064-1:2018 training, successfully passing the greenhouse gas inventory verification by SGS (Thailand) Ltd in 2024. Apex is also committed to enhancing information transparency. The 2023 Annual General Meeting was broadcast live online, and the full recording of the latest Annual General Meeting was uploaded to our official website for all shareholders to view. Besides, we uploaded the Annual Report ahead of the statutory deadline and published the Chinese financial report within two months of the fiscal year-end.
In the TWSE Corporate Governance Evaluation results released this April, Apex ranked in the top 5% among 952 listed companies for the first time; in the electronics category with a market capitalization of 5 to 10 billion, Apex also reached the top 5% for the first time, becoming the only listed company in the Printed Circuit Board industry to achieve this rank. In the future, Apex will continue to practice corporate sustainability and progress steadfastly on the path to ESG.
